The Kumasi High Court has issued four months imprisonment sentence to two teachers for defrauding 82 nursing training students to the tune of GH¢164,000.

One of the teachers, Kwabena Kingsley, was a parliamentary candidate for the Afigya-Kwabre East for the PPP. The other was Osei Francis. They duped the students after convincing them that they could help them secure a scholarship from Dr. Paa Kwesi Nduom, founder of the Progressive People’s Party.

They were charged with three counts of conspiracy to commit crime, defrauding by false pretence and forgery. Although they pleaded not guilty to the charges, they were found guilty of all the charges after two years of trial.
