57-year-old JHS graduate featured on BBC

57-year-old Junior High School graduate, Madam Elizabeth Yamoah, has been featured on the British Broadcasting Corporation Pidgin news.

Madam Elizabeth Yamoah was the oldest student in the recent Basic Education Certificate Examination. She attended Odoben Presbyterian Junior High School in the Central Region of Ghana.

Madam Yamoah was featured in a short 2 minutes video on the British Broadcasting Corporation. This video shows some important information about the 57-year-old BECE graduate who is hoping to enter second-cycle education.

She stated that her main motive for going back to school is to become a nurse in the future. Also, Madam Elizabeth stated that she was forced to quit basic school after he lost his father.

Narrating her reason for going back to school in 2017, she stated about her dream of becoming a nurse. Additionally, she revealed that she was involved in an accident when she went to the market to purchase her school uniform. Madam Yamoah stated that she lost some of her teeth during the accident. She stated that she was never discouraged by the accident.

“In 2017, I put on my uniform and school bag and went to the school to register my self. Although people were laughing and making fun of me, I was never discouraged. The motivation came from the Free SHS policy from the government”.

Elizabeth Yamoah became the talk of the day after she was sighted in a photo. Many people found it surprising due to her age, but she was destined to complete her basic education. She was often found playing among her teenage colleague classmates, who could be her grandchildren. She was nicknamed by her mates “Auntie School Girl”.

Madam Elizabeth Yamoah stated that Religious and Moral Education and Information and Communication Technology were her favorite subjects. She added that she also wants to become the assemblywoman of her electoral area.

In conclusion, Madam Elizabeth Yamoah is a mother of four and has five grandchildren.
