Alexander-Arnold wins Premier League Young Player of the Year


English most promising right-back, Trent Alexander-Arnold has been named the 2019/2020 Premier League Young Player of the year.

The 2018 Golden Boy runner up pulled out the most votes as faced the likes of Mason Greenwood, Marcus Rashford, Christian Pulisic, Mason Mount, Jack Grealish and Dean Henderson.

The 21-year-old right-back registered 13 assists and bagged four goals in all 38 premier league games this season. He broke his last season record for most assists by a defender with his 13 assists. Only Manchester City’s creative midfielder, Kevin De Bruyne, registered more assists than Trent Alexander-Arnold.

In addition to his offensive attributes, Alexander-Arnold also helped the Anfielders keep 12 solid clean sheets. He is a member of the history-making squad of Jurgen Klopp’s team to end Liverpool’s 30-year premier league trophy drought.

He made a 0.14 booking rate per 90 minutes. With many accolades from former players, Alexander-Arnold is tipped for more greatness as he is compared with the likes of Brazilian legend, Cafu Evangelista de Morais.

Trent made his debut for Liverpool in the 2017/2018 season and has since established himself as a key man for the lads and a potential future captain. He has won one premier league, one UEFA Champions League, one Fifa Club World Cup, and one UEFA Super Cup.
