Spanish International and Barcelona legend Xavi Hernandez has tested positive for Coronavirus. After handing his boots, the 40-year-old former midfielder is managing Al Sadd in Qatar.
After contacting the virus, Xavi will not take his normal managerial position in Saturday’s game against Al Khor. He will now self isolate himself to prevent the further spreading of the virus among the players and staff.
Although the symptoms of Coronavirus was not seen on Xavi Hernandez, his team took to social media that he will not be available until he recovers.
After over 4 months of suspension of the Qatari League, the league is resuming back but unfortunately for Xavi, he will not be available for now.
Xavi Hernandez has confirmed that Al Sadd reserve coach David Prats, will take over. He will serve as the leader of the technical team until he recovers from the Covid 19. Xavi has been in charge of Al Sadd since 2019, leading them to the semis of the AFC Champions League.
After leaving the Camp Nou in 2015, Xavi is now a manager of Al Sadd.
