German champions, Bayern Munich, have made a progression into the finals of the 2019/2020 UEFA Champions League. They made their way with a 3:0 win against Lyon in the semi-finals, seeing the French side leave the competition.

Lyon put up impressive performances in the Champions League after seeing off Juventus and Manchester City in the knockout stages. On the other hand, Bayern Munich eliminated Chelsea and Barcelona to make it to the semis of the competition.

Bayern make it to the finals

Due to the game being played on neutral ground, there were many things at stake for both clubs. The game started on a high note for Lyon as they missed about three goal-scoring chances in the first 15 minutes.

Serge Gnabry opened the scoresheet on the 18th-minute mark with a shot in front of the penalty box. He extended the lead for the German side on the 33rd minute before half time.

The second half went the same as the first for Lyon. They made great impacts in the early period of the half but were not able to score. Carl Toku Ekambi made some errors which affected Lyon’s quest to equalize in the match. Memphis Depay was substituted for Moussa Dembele who came into the game to make an impact.

Both teams had a smooth running of the game in the second half until the 88th superb header goal by Lewandowski. The game eventually ended 3:0 in the favor the German champions.

Bayern Munich qualify for finals of UCL

Bayern Munich has made it to the finals of the UEFA Champions League after 7 years. They will face Paris Saint Germain in the finals which are predicted to be very tough.
