The Ghana Football Association has registered 18 clubs in their premier division. These clubs are owned by groups, companies and individuals.

However, football is a game in which people celebrate all over the world. There are great influential people who make these teams a possibility and below are the club owners of teams in Ghana Premier League.

Most of these people are not day-to-day administrators of the team but have a stake in the success of the team.

1. Aduana Stars – The Dormaa Traditional Council in the Bono Region owns Aduana Stars.

2. Asante Kotoko – The Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, is the owner of Kumasi Asante Kotoko. He governs the team for the Ashanti Kingdom.

3. Ashanti Gold FC – Ashanti Gold is a partnership based team owned by a group of people. Dr. Kwaku Frimpong owns 90% stake, Nana Acheken owns 9% while Anglogold owns 15 stake in the team.

4. Bechem United – Top Kings Company owns Bechem United.

5. Berekum Chelsea – Berekum Chelsea is solely owned by Obed Nana Kwame Nketiah.

6. Dreams FC – Dreams FC is 33% owned partly by Kurt Okraku, Jiji Alifo, and Prince Abdul Hamid, while 1% is owned by others.

7. Ebusua Dwarfs – Ebusua Dwarfs is owned by 50% owned by the late Nana Aidoo and 50% owned by Nana Sam Brew Butler.

8. Elmina Sharks – Mr. and Mrs. Nduom own the Elmina Sharks Football Club.

9. Great Olympics – Five persons own the Accra Great Olympics. Global Village owns a 40% share, Old Olym owns 42%, Nick Amarfio owns 4%, McDan owns 8%, while the Red Sea owns a 6% share.

10. Hearts of Oak – Togbui Afede owns the majority share (68%) in Hearts of Oak. Ato Ahwoi and Frank Nelson own 7% respectively. Other supporting groups also own a 15% share in Accra Hearts of Oak.

11. Inter Allies – Rabeh El-Etar owns Inter Allies Sporting Club.

11. Karela FC – Senator Brigidi Family owns the Karela Football Club. His wife owns 50% while his children both own a 50% share.

12. King Faisal FC – Alhaji Karim Grusah owns 100% share in the ownership of King Faisal Sporting Club.

13. Liberty Professionals – The late Sly Tetteh and Felix Ansong both have a 50% share in the ownership of the Scientific Soccer Lads.

14. Legon Cities – Attipoe Kings Richard fully owns Legon Cities Football Club.

15. Medeama Sporting Club – Moses Armah Parker owns Medeama Sporting Club.

16. Techiman Eleven Wonders- Techiman Eleven Wonders is owned by Nameyaw Company Limited

18. WAFA – African Tiger Holdings owns the West African Football Academy.

In conclusion, the partnership is the major form of team ownership in the Ghana Premier League.
