The Paramount Chief of Kpone, Nii Tetteh Otu II has explained the reason why he walked out on Akufo-Addo at the durbar. Akufo-Addo went to Kpone for a sod-cutting of a project on October 25, 2020.
In a viral video spreading wild on social media showed the chief was walking away from the durbar. People have expressed their views concerning the behavior of the paramount chief. Some expressed their disappointment about the chief’s behavior in front of the mass gathering. Others also were in massive support of the chief.
According to Nii Tetteh Otu II, the unfortunate incident has been taken out of context. Explaining further, he stated that there is no reason why he will disrespect any president of Ghana.
The chief revealed that there was a conversation between the traditional council members and that led him to depart from the event. Nii stated that he was in disagreement with the decisions of the council and was shouting. Additionally, the chief stated that the community needs more projects and not just sod-cuttings. Nii Tetteh stated that the developmental projects will show the true love of the President to people in the community.
He, in conclusion, urged the mass public to disregard the wrong interpretation of the video of the incident circulating on social media.
