Ignatius Baffour-Awuah gets top United Nations job

Good news has reached Ghanaians after the Minister for Employment and Labour Relations, Ignatius Baffuor-Awuah was recognized by the United Nations. The United Nations appointed him on the International Advisory Board on the Climate Action for jobs Strategy of the United Nations.

This appointment is an initiative of the International Labour Organisation and the United Nations. The versatile Minister of Employment will join the high-level members of the Advisory Board. The board members include Ministers of the environment, labor, and planning of some selected countries.

Others members include leaders of employers’ and workers’ organizations and senior officials of the United Nations. These individuals will transform commitments at the United Nations Climate Action Summit of 2019 into action.

In an appointment letter to Hon. Baffuor-Awuah, the Director-General of the International Labour Organization said the International Labour Organization looks forward to working with Hon Baffour Awuah “to achieve far-reaching action on climate change, advance social justice and promote decent jobs”.

The United Nations have acknowledged the sums of hard work, competence and good works of the Honorable Mininster. Hon. Ignatius Baffuor-Awuah will serve on the board for a period of 3 years.
