John Dumelo is a Ghanaian actor, politician, and commercial farmer who was the first Ghanaian to hit a million likes on Facebook because of his fame in the Ghanaian movie industry. John Dumelo was born on 3 February 1984 in Ghana.

John Dumelo attended his basic school at Christ the King School in Accra and later proceeds to Achimota School. He was part of the drama club and won Fliers Guy in Mo-Town Prize. John Dumelo further studies Civil Engineering at Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology where he also won the Mr. University among his year group.

John Dumelo started his acting career in 1990s and in 1991 he featured in a movie called Baby thief and was paid 20 thousand (old Ghana currency, now 2 cedis) as of the age of 7 years. On 19 July 2019, John Dumelo took the bold step to pick up a nomination form to contest in the NDC primaries as a parliamentarian candidate. John Dumelo won the primaries election on 24th August 2019, to represent the NDC in Ayawaso West Wougon Constituency in the 2020 General election but lost to his opponent Lydia Alhassan of the New Patriotic Party.
