Background

Last Wednesday, Akuapem Poloo was ordered by the court to go and continue her 90 days jail term. The court presided over by Justice Ruby Aryeetey dismissed an appeal filed by Akuapem Poloo challenging her 90 days custodial sentence.

Ruling on the application by the convict asking the court to set aside the custodial sentence and replace it with a fine, the court said, the 90 days custodial sentence imposed on her was not excessive and harsh.
