Kumerican Kumasi Academy trash Mfantsipim from the National Science and Maths Quiz

Kumasi-based school, Kumasi Academy, has trashed out Mfantsipim School from the 1/8th stage of the 2020 National Science and Maths Quiz.

Mfantsipim School faced St. Mary’s Girls SHS from Accra and Kumasi Academy in the early contest on Wednesday. The contest began on a high note for all three schools since they all wanted to gain a seed in 2021 edition. With speed and accuracy, the Kumerican school commanded all the rounds of the competition.

Mfantsipim School was represented by Palmer Maison, Peter Appiah-Thompson, and Addo-Dankwa Akufo-Addo. St. Mary’s Girls SHS was also represented by Hilary Mensah and Erica Mensah. Benjamin Yeboah and Emmanuel Osei also represented Kumasi Academy.

At the end of the competition, Kumasi Academy scored 53 points and came out as winners. Mfantsipim School scored 35 points and St. Mary’s SHS bagged 30 points. This is the end of the journey for Mfantsipim School and St. Mary’s Girls SHS in the 2020 National Science and Maths Quiz.

This is the second time in a row whereby Mfantsipim School has failed to reach the quarter-finals of the annual competition. In 2019, St. Augustine’s College put up a massive performance against the 2014 Champions.

Kumasi Academy was one of the 27 seeded schools and they have successfully slotted their booked their slots. Mfantsipim made its way into this year’s competition by qualifying from the regional. Whereas, St. Mary’s Girls SHS also came through the regional qualifiers.
