A mentally challenged young girl of 18-year-old has lost her life as a result of sustaining multiple stabbings. The unfortunate incident happened at Subrisu in the Eastern Region by unknown people.

It was revealed by the grandparent of the deceased, Sowah Ashitey, that the incident happened on August 29, 2020. He stated that the mother of the deceased passed on the sad message to him. The mentally challenged girl was stabbed in a plantain farm near their house.

The family issued a report at the Akoasi Police Station in the Eastern Region.

The Acting Public Relations Officer of the Eastern Regional Police Command, Sergeant Francis Gomadoh, confirmed the incident. He revealed that police went ahead to the scene and found the deceased lying dead with multiple stabbing.

He added that the police found three fresh knife wounds at her right rib. Another one was detected at the stomach area during an examination of the body.

Moreover, the police have extended their investigation to the crime scene which is close to their house. The body of the deceased has been deposited at the Holy Family Hospital morgue at Nkawkaw.
