Missing police officer found dead


A police officer who was reported missing on his way to Suhum has been found dead. Last week, Inspector Adamu Charles was on his way to inspect his land in the Eastern Region but was nowhere to be found.

The body of the deceased inspector was found floating on a river near his piece of land he went to visit. The health division of the Police Hospital in Accra confirmed the identity of the late police officer.

Background of the case

The 50-year-old police officer drove from the Police Hospital at Accra in the Police vehicle to inspect his land at Suhum. As he never returned home, the wife of Inspector Adamu went to report the issue to the police service. Surprisingly, they went to the land area of the late police officer and only found the police car. Also, the ignition key was on when the police found the vehicle.

A search was mounted by police personnel and residents of Asuboi and nearby communities of Suhum. The communities made announcements last Sunday and a serious search was conducted for the missing officer.

Charles Adamu worked as a driver to the Police Hospital in Accra.
