The National Democratic Congress, in line with their manifesto launch, has made promises concerning tertiary education. The NDC has promised to slash tuition fees of tertiary students by 50% provided they are elected into power.
The reason for this special slash of the tuition fees is due to the COVID-19 effects on the educational sector. Jane Naana Opoku Agyemang in her speech made it known than this package will only be for the 2020/2021 academic year.

The manifesto launch which took place on Monday, August 7, 2020, unravel the thoughts of the NDC, which is to ensure that quality education is provided in all aspects of education. Another wonderful promise regarding tertiary education is the provision of laptops to all tertiary students in Ghana.
The National Democratic Congress also made it known that they will scrap the double-track system in the Free SHS policy. Moreover, the NDC have also promised to build new tertiary institutions in all new created regions provided they are elected into power.
In conclusion, the manifesto has been launched successfully but more importantly, the implementation is more important.
