Okada, trotro, taxi drivers can swap old cars, bikes for new cars – Bawumia

Vice President, Mahamudu Bawumia, has revealed that the Akufo-Addo led government has proposed a new policy for the transport sector. When implemented, the policy will ensure that okada and taxi drivers can swap their old vehicles for newly locally-manufactured ones.

The project is dubbed, the National Transport Recapitalisation Project, and will be accessible by all commercial drivers.

According to Bawumia, due to the usage of universal QR codes, digital property address system, and national identification cards, the implementation of the policy is possible.
