Didier Deschamps, head-coach of the French national team, has stated that Paul Pogba is unhappy with his Manchester United role. The 2018 WorldCup winning coach revealed that Pogba’s situation of starting only 4 out of 7 Premier League matches is bad.
Additionally, Deschamps stated that playing Pogba in the wings is not favorable to him. Paul Pogba has about 18 months on his contract with Manchester United and it seems he will be moving on.
In October, a one-year extension was triggered by Man United due to speculations surrounding the midfielder’s move to Real Madrid. Moreover, it is on record that Paul Pogba has expressed his love to play for Real Madrid in the future.
Deschamps stated, “I know Pogba well. He is currently facing a situation with his club where he cannot be happy. He is neither being given enough playing time nor plying in his natural position. Paul Pogba has been affected by injuries and COVID-19 situations this season. The young midfielder needs to find his rhythm”.
Manchester United head coach, Ole Gunner Solskjaer, has deployed Scott McTominay and Fred into their midfield. Although Pogba’s qualities cannot be matched by any of them, they are also playing very well.
France national team will face Finland in a friendly on Wednesday, November 11, before competing in the UEFA Nations League. France will play Portugal and Sweden on the 14th and 17th of November respectively.
