The Abokobi District Police Command on Wednesday, August 26, 2020, apprehended lang guards numbering eleven. Their arrest was in line with the terrorizing of a landowner at Danfa in the Greater Accra Region.

The names of the eleven arrested land guards are Seidu Sulley, aged 48, Abass Hamidu, aged 45, Mohammed Mubarak, aged 40, Agbessi Kwame, aged 35, Daniel Awase, aged 44, Mussah Teiru, aged 32, Sanussi Alhassan, aged 29, Alhassan Donkor, aged 37, Abdul Gafal, aged 24, Andrews Opata, aged 35, and Dauda Salam, aged 29.

Deputy Superintendent of Police Effia Tenge stated that the Abokobi District Police was notified that there was an ongoing land guard activities at Danfa, near Abokobi.

She continued that the police patrol team prepared and rushed to the scene. They met the alleged land guards who are known to be terrorizing and driving away innocent landowners from their sites. She stated that initially, the police arrested and sent them to the Ayi Mensah Police Station for interrogations.

Moreover, DSP Effia Tenge added that in the course of the operation, the police impounded a 4×4 Mercedes Benz vehicle with registration number GT 6700-Y and two unregistered motorbikes which were owned by the land guards.

She later made it known that there have been many issues of land guard activities in the Abokobi community. DSP Tenge assured the public that they are working to eliminate the deviant characters from the community.
