Policeman crushed under a falling cargo truck

A 42-year-old policeman lost his life after he was trapped under a falling cargo truck on the Kintampo-Tamale road.

The dead policeman was identified as Sergeant Solomon Amuure. He was on his way home after work when the unfortunate incident happened. It was on Sunday August 23, 2020, at about 10 pm when the cargo car lost control from its lane and fell on him. Sergeant Solomon was immediately rushed to the Buipe Polyclinic but unfortunately died while receiving treatment.

The Police have since identified the name of the suspect driver as Zakaria Kagambega. He escaped immediately the incident happened and is currently been searched by the police.

Zakaria Kagambega was the driver in charge of the Ouagadougou cargo track. It was identified with registration No.11 JP 9534 loaded with goods from Tema.

It is known that as the cargo track reached a section of the Kintampo-Tamale road, it deviated from the road. Unfortunately, the cargo truck fell on the deceased police officer who was returning home from work.

The police confirmed that the body of the deceased had been deposited at the Kintampo Municipal Hospital Morgue for preservation and autopsy.

The police were preparing to tow the cargo truck to the police station as investigations are in progress,
