Real Madrid duo Hazard & Casemiro test positive for Covid-19


All-time Champions League leaders, Real Madrid, have confirmed that Eden Hazard and Henrique Casemiro have tested positive for coronavirus. The Spanish side tested their players ahead of Week 9 of La Liga against Valencia on Sunday.

Eden Hazard will be out of play again for the Los Blancos yet again. But for this time, its not due to injury. Hazard has made only three appearances for Read Madrid this season.

Carlos Henrique Casemiro, on the other hand, has featured in all appearances for the Los Blancos this season. He has been an integral defensive-midfielder and has been an exceptional one.

Both Hazard and Casemiro trained on Friday ahead of their encounter with Valencia. However, they were the only players on their side found to have contracted the deadly virus in the latest round of tests.

The Spanish defending champions released a statement that reads: “Real Madrid C.F announces that our players Casemiro and Hazard have tested positive to Covid-19 in the tests carried out on Friday morning. Negative tests were observed from everyone else, including coaching staff and all club employees”.

Earlier in the week, Brazilian international, Eder Militao was confirmed positive for coronavirus as he missed the Champions League win against Inter.

Zinedine Zidane might shift Valverde into the defensive-midfield position to cover up for Casemiro. Also, Vinicius Junior could walk into the boots of Hazard at the Left-wing position.
