Robber nearly lynched after robbing Mobile Money merchant at Kasoa Ofaakor


Several armed robbery cases have been recorded in relation to Mobile Money vendors in Ghana.

A 31-year-old notorious robber identified as, Amadu Yakubu, and his accomplice went to rob and mobile money vendor at Kasoa Ofaakor. With the intervention of the residents, Adamu was caught and nearly beaten to death by the angry residents, after he and his friend robbed the MoMo merchant.

According to sources, Adamu and his accomplice entered the MoMO merchant shop to demand money from the victim (female). Additionally, it was revealed that they had in their possession a broken bottle. Also, the robbers threatened to kill the victim if she does not hand over her money to them.

With great fright of the victim, the victim shouted for help and it drew the attention of some residents nearby. The robbers upon escaping from the chase from the residents, Adamu Yakubu was apprehended.

He was not spared by the residents as they beat him mercilessly for his notoriety. With the immediate intervention of the police, Adamu was saved from being killed.

The Ofaakor District Police Commander, DSP Samuel Amfoh, confirmed the incident. He also stated that investigations have begun into the case.

In conclusion, Kasoa has been a hotspot for many armed robbery incident in Ghana.
