Suspected separatist group attack Ho STC, burn one bus

The State Transport Corporation branch in the Volta Region in Ghana has been attacked by some unconfirmed group of people. Suspicions have been drawn to the Western Togoland group although no confirmations have been made.

It is reported that a group of armed men attacked the State Transport Corporation in the Regional capital. It happened at midnight on Monday, September 28, 2020.

They assaulted the driver in the State Transport Corporation bus, they fired gunshots at the scene, and pointed gun at the security guard. While the pointed the gun at the security guard, they set fire into one of the buses at the venue. This incident led to the immediate response of the security personnels of the state to proceed to the scene to ensure safety.

Western Togoland saga has been in the limelight for some time now. It all began on Friday, September 25, 2020 midnight where roads were blocked at the affected areas.

The security service has been tasked to ensure peace and safety in the Volta Region. Moreover, the North Tongu District will need a very high-leveled security reinforcement.

In conclusion, it is currently not confirmed whether the armed men were members of the Western Togoland Group.
