Liverpool’s new signing, Thiago Alcantara, has set a Premier League record on his Liverpool debut. The Spanish international completed more passes as compared to every single Chelsea player, despite playing only 45 minutes.

The 2020 UEFA Champions League winner made an initial £20m move to Liverpool from Bayern Munich. He joined the Anfield based side on Friday, September 18, 2020. When he came on in the beginning of the second half, Liverpool was goalless against Chelsea at the Stamford Bridge.

He began the game on the bench but replaced captain Jordan Henderson in the second half. Thiago Alcantara gave a perfect form of a debut as he completed 75 passes in 45 minutes. It is the most passes completed by a player who played a maximum of 45 minutes.

With Thiago Alcantara making great impacts in the midfield, Liverpool was able to control the game and possess well. A brace from Senegalese international Sadio Mane was enough for Liverpool to gain all three points.
