Two Police officers have lost their lives in two separate fatal accidents. The incidents happened on Friday, September 18, 2020, at Akyem Oda and Walewale in the Eastern and North-East Regions.

The victim in the first incident was a thirty-three-year-old Lance Corporal by name Yankey Joseph. He crashed his motorbike to a Tipper truck at Akyem Oda roadside. He was a member of the Oda District Police Command in the Eastern Region.

The other Police officer who died in an accident was Ernest Oteng. The cause of his death is known to be from crashing a Police vehicle at the roadside.

The bodies of the two deceased police men have deposited at the morgues in their respective regions.

The acting Public Relations Officer of the Eastern Regional Police Command, Sergeant Francis Gomado, confirmed the unfortunate incidents. He added that there is ongoing investigations by the police.

Road accident has been very rampant these days. Within the week, about 6 major accidents have taken place in various parts of the country. Moreover, many people have died in these accidents while others have sustained life-threatening injuries.
