Two Suicide Incidents Recorded in Accra Within 48 Hours


Two dead bodies have been found dead as a result of suicidal actions. The Police recovered the bodies at Madina and Fise in the Greater Accra Region in less than 48 hours.

The two unfortunate incidents happened in the rooms of the dead persons as they hanged themselves. The Police have identified the victims as Wilson Kwasi Roy and Ofori Agyapong Samuel who are aged 41 and 54 respectively.

The Greater Accra regional Police Command released an information through the Public Relations Officer, DSP Efia Tenge, confirming the two incidents to some media houses and the public. She made it known that the investigations into the incidents have commenced.

Giving a vivid account of what ensued, the DSP stated that on the early morning of July 26, a brother to one of the deceased reported to the police that at about 7:30 am, he paid a visit to his brother by name Roy Wilson in Madina. To his surprise, he found his brother hanging on a rope in his room.

She continued that the police prepared an headed the scene to see a young man hanging on a rope with his feet not touching the ground.

Moreover, another case of suicide by handing was also reported by a brother-in-law to the deceased on July 27. The deceased was found hanging on the hook of his ceiling fan tied with a sponge.

She then stated that the bodies have been sent to the Police Hospital Mortuary in Accra awaiting autopsy reports.
