Manchester United have completed the deal with Ajax Amsterdam for the service of 23-year-old Donny Van de Beek. The classic Dutch midfielder has committed his future to Old Trafford after agreeing a 5-year-deal with the Red Devils. Manchester United paid an initial £35 million, plus £5 million in add-ons in the near future.
The deal which was completed on August 2, 2020, will see a transformation in the midfield of Manchester United. The big question is where Van de Beek will fit in the Manchester United set-up.
Donny van de Beek has selected jersey number 34 to honor his former teammates, Abdelhak Nouri. He will join up with his new teammates after featuring for Netherland in the UEFA Nations League.
Manchester United side have Bruno Fernandes, Pogba, McTominay, Andreas Pereira, Fred, Mata, Lingard, and Matic in their midfield. The 4-2-3-1 formation by Ole Gunnar Solskjaer will mean that Van de beek will compete with 8 players for three positions in the midfield.
