The nation’s former special prosecutor, Martin Amidu has reacted to comments by Akufo-Addo after accepting his resignation.
In a lengthy response, Martin Amidu described President Akufo-Addo as a president who took the presidential “oath while looking like the innocent flower of anti-corruption but being the mother serpent of corruption under it.”
He further described the Agyapa Royalties Transaction deal as the biggest corrupt deal in Ghana since the country’s independence in 1957.
Mr. Amidu in his response also stated that the letter from the presidency accepting his resignation and written by the President’s Secretary revealed that neither the President nor his secretary had read the full 64-page report on the Agyapa deal to know that it contained very serious corruption and corruption-related offenses.
