The Hatfield Lioness Scholarship aims to provide financial assistance to exceptionally talented and motivated women to help them fulfill their academic potential and contribute to the development of their home countries.
Applicants are required to demonstrate a strong commitment to contributing to the development of their communities and countries, as well as a clear vision for utilizing their education to create positive change. The Hatfield Lioness Postgraduate Scholarship was created to provide an opportunity for women from a developing country with limited access to higher education to pursue postgraduate studies at Durham University. Launched in 2018 to celebrate 30 years of women students at Hatfield College, the scholarship is funded by alumni, friends of the College, and other supporters who share its mission.

ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENT FOR THE HATFIELD LIONESS SCHOLARSHIP 2024
In order to be eligible for evaluation, applicants must meet the following terms and conditions;
- Candidates must have applied for and obtained an unconditional spot in their preferred master’s program by June 2024.
- Candidates must not have received any other scholarship for their postgraduate studies.
- Candidates must identify as female and possess an appropriate undergraduate degree of sufficient distinction for admission to their selected master’s program.
- Candidates must satisfy all other entrance criteria for the program, including the essential English language proficiency.
- Absence of a prior master’s degree
- Proof of insufficient financial means to pursue a master’s degree in the UK.
BENEFITS OF THE HATFIELD LIONESS SCHOLARSHIP 2024
The scholarship includes full payment of university tuition fees,
- A stipend for living expenses,
- Accommodation at Hatfield College,
- One return economy air ticket from the home country to the UK. It also covers the cost of return travel between the UK airport and Durham City,
- A settling-in allowance,
- UK visa, and the UK Health surcharge.

HOW TO APPLY

Step two: Indicate your intention to apply for the Hatfield Lioness Scholarship by submitting an academic application.
